How it works

Six steps, from first form to yearly re-review. The full detail, evidence list and statuses are on how reviews work.

01ApplyAbout ten minutes. Who you are, what you make, what tools you use.
02DiscloseA plain-language questionnaire about what you collect and who receives it.
03Scans and evidenceWe scan your site, and you show us your ad account settings on screen. We never ask for passwords.
04ConversationA call with a reviewer. Grey areas are easier said out loud.
05DecisionCertified, or not yet with a list of changes. Decided by someone other than your reviewer.
06Every yearCertification runs 12 months, with weekly scans in between.

Published, scaled to headcount and paid whatever the outcome. They pay for reviews, never for results.

For the pilot, and for anyone certified before 31 December 2027. After that, the fee for your size.

The first year’s fee is paid on application and covers the review. It isn’t refunded if the answer is “not yet”, and one re-review within six months is included. Reviewers are paid the same fee whatever the outcome.

What does it cost?
Founding members pay nothing until 2028. After that it depends on headcount, from £100 a year for fewer than ten staff. See the table above.
How long does a review take?
Two to four weeks from a complete application. About one week in the fast lane, for businesses under 50 staff that are already clean.
What if we don’t pass?
You get a clear list of what to change, with the clause behind each item, and nothing is published. Most “not yets” become yeses.
Can we apply before we’ve cleaned everything up?
Yes. Tell us what you’re working on. We’d rather help a business get there than wait for it to be perfect.
